How I Raised $600K in 6 Weeks – Startup Fundraising Strategy 2025

How I raised $600K in 6 Weeks (after failing miserably)

January 30, 20252 min read

10 Years Ago, I Thought Raising $600K Was About Cold Emails and Pitches.

I blew my chances in under a week!

Today you get the approach that finally got me to ‘Investor YES’

It was 10 years ago that I stepped into Indonesia:

  • • With an app to connect freight with riders

  • • Motivated by love to be there

  • • In Jakarta, a city I had never been to

  • • Without a network of friends

  • • I had little experience

I did everything I read online:

  • • Redesigned 50x my 12-page deck

  • • Visiting startup events

  • • Created an investor list

  • • Blasting cold emails

Result: ❌ ZERO.

Then my girlfriend left me.

I was underwater.

I was forced to make a change that changed my funding game forever.

I went from failing to winning in under 6 weeks:

✅ Building a team of 1000 employees

✅ With operations in 20 cities

✅ Doing close to 8 figures in revenue

How?

I stopped:

❌ Following up with investors desperately

❌ Pitching with a web-famous 12-page deck

❌ Having soulless 45-minute meetings

❌ Spamming every investor in town

❌ Begging for attention and money

Instead, I started:

✅ Asking for partnership

✅ Investor I liked

✅ Building credibility with micro investors

✅ Driving interest with perfect 1-page teasers

✅ Having ultra-short 20-minute discovery meetings

✅ Offering great deals that minimized risk

✅ Caring for investor up and downside

✅ Not being needy but being rare

Instead of:

We are raising X and plan to close in 3 months. Do you want to invest?

I went to:

I am working on X. We have made great progress, and you seem like a partner I'd like to work with. Wanna meet?

The point is:

1. No one likes to be sold

2. No one likes to be forced

3. All investors want is to discover

As these conversations weren’t pitches but structured to see if we could be a good fit…

There is less pressure!

Less pressure means being more authentic.

And it’s authenticity that moves the needle.

So, Action Points to Consider If You Plan a Raise:

👉🏼 Spend 80% on preparation

👉🏼 Reach out to investors when you don’t need cash

👉🏼 Personalize your approach to build real relationships

👉🏼 Create an unbeatable derisked investment offer

👉🏼 Add FOMO and scarcity to your round

When your pond is big enough and you have raised enough interest, you open the round!

Only when you are ready, we are there to support you.
